Tigers Defense solid in 1st half, Bech shines in return
LSU defense did exactly what they needed to do when the New Mexico Lobos came to Death Valley Saturday night... In a day of close calls, LSU Defense held the Lobos to just 76 yards of total offense in the 1st Half to set the tone in this one. After forcing a 3 and out on the Lobos first possession, the Tigers behind a up tempo opening drive went 57 yards in 8 plays and capped off the scoring drive with a 5-yard Armoni Goodwin TD plunge. Tigers hurt themselves with two TDs taken off the board due to penalties. A 76-yard Jack Bech was negated by a Blindside Block and a Kole Taylor TD reception was wiped out for OPI. LSU failed to capitalize with a Ramos missed field goal. In the first half, Daniels has hit 9 different receivers. Tigers cap off the first half with Goodwin's 2nd TD of the Game. This one from a yard out. Solid 88-yard 15 play, 5:44 drive to end the half. Tigers lead it 17-0 and will get the 2nd half kickoff.
